Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Reveals Portfolio Allocation for Maharashtra State Cabinet

Mumbai, July 14, 2023 – In a significant development, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has unveiled the portfolio allocation for the newly appointed ministers in the Maharashtra state cabinet. The announcement comes after the approval of Governor Ramesh Bais, signifying a crucial step towards effective governance and administration.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde himself will handle a diverse range of portfolios, including General Administration, Urban Development, Information and Technology, Information and Public Relations, Transport, Social Justice, Environment and Climate Change, Mining, and any other unallocated portfolio. This broad spectrum of responsibilities showcases the Chief Minister’s commitment to driving progress and addressing key issues affecting the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been entrusted with several crucial portfolios, including Home, Law and Justice, Water Resources and Beneficial Sector Development, Energy, and Royal Etiquette. With his extensive experience and proven track record, Fadnavis is expected to play a vital role in ensuring law and order, sustainable development, and effective governance in these areas.

Another Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, has been assigned the critical portfolio of Finance and Planning. His expertise and strategic acumen are expected to contribute significantly to the state’s financial management and planning, facilitating economic growth and welfare programs for the people of Maharashtra.

The remaining 26 ministers have also been allocated portfolios according to their areas of expertise and experience. Chhagan Bhujbal will be responsible for Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, while Diliparao Dattatraya Valse-Patil will oversee the Cooperation department. Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil has been entrusted with the important portfolios of Revenue, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy Development.

Sudhir Satchidananda Mungantiwar will handle Forestry, Cultural Activities, and Fisheries, while Hasan Mianlal Mushrif takes charge of Medical Education and Special Assistance. Chandrakantada Bachu Patil will be responsible for Higher and Technical Education, Textile Industry, and Parliamentary Affairs, and Vijayakumar Krishnarao Gavit will oversee Tribal Development.

Girish Dattatray Mahajan will focus on Village Development and Panchayat Raj, along with Tourism, while Gulabrao Patil takes up the mantle of Water Supply and Sanitation. Dadaji Dagdu Bhuse has been assigned the Public Works portfolio, and Sanjay Dulichand Rathore will oversee Soil and Water Conservation.

Dhananjay Panditrao Munde will handle the Agriculture portfolio, and Sureshbhau Dagdu Khade will be responsible for Worker welfare. Sandipan Asaram Bhumre will oversee the Employment Guarantee Scheme and Horticulture, while Uday Ravindra Samant takes charge of the Industry department.

Prof. Tanaji Jaywant Sawant has been assigned the crucial portfolio of Public Health and Family Welfare. Ravindra Dattatraya Chavan will be responsible for Public Works (excluding public undertakings), while Abdul Sattar will oversee Minority Development and Auqaf.

Panan Deepak Vasantrao Kesarkar will focus on School Education and Marathi Language, while Dharmarao Baba Bhagwantrao Atram will handle Food and Drug Administration. Atul Moreshwar Save will take up the Housing, Other Backward, and Bahujan Welfare portfolio, while Shambhuraj Shivajirao Desai has been assigned the State Excise Duty department.

Mrs. Aditi Sunil Tatkare will oversee Women and Child Development, and Sanjay Baburao Bansode will be responsible for Sports and Youth Welfare. Mangalprabhat Lodha has been entrusted with Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, while Anil Patil will handle Relief and Rehabilitation, as well as Disaster Management.

The allocation of portfolios reflects the state government’s commitment to effectively address key issues and drive progress across various sectors. The Chief Minister and the entire council of ministers are expected to work in tandem to fulfill the aspirations of the people and accelerate Maharashtra’s growth trajectory.
