Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation Launches Special Cleanliness Drive as part of Swachh Bharat Mission 2023

Mira Bhayandar :– The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with the Information and Public Relations Department, conducted the third day of its special cleanliness drive under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2023. The event, which took place on October 18, 2023, saw the presence of Mr. Sanjay Shripatrarav Katkar, IAS, Commissioner and Administrator, Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation.

During the campaign, the city was divided into two groups. The first group, under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Aniket Manorkar, cleaned areas such as Golden Nest, Indralok, Buddha Vihar, Ramdev Park, and Deepak Hospital. The second group, led by Additional Commissioner Sambhaji Panpatta, worked on cleaning Golden Nest, Deepak Hospital, Queens Park, Kanakia Road, and Hatkesh Society.

Key officials and staff from various departments, including the Upayukta (Headquarters) Maruti Gayakwad, Upayukta Sanjay Shinde, Upayukta Ravi Pawar, Upayukta Kalpita Pimple, City Engineer Deepak Khambit, Sub-Divisional Officer Pravinika Bhosale, and many more, participated in the cleanliness campaign. In total, around 400 to 500 employees from various departments joined hands to make the event a success.

The campaign encompassed various tasks, such as direct cleaning by department heads, removing stickers, taking action against illegal plastic hoardings, maintaining restroom hygiene, cleaning statues and sculptures, repairing damaged garbage bins, and clearing road encroachments. Additionally, unauthorized banners and boards were removed, and roads were cleaned. All these activities contributed to beautifying and enhancing the cleanliness of the city.

The campaign commenced at 7:00 AM and continued until 1:00 PM, garnering enthusiastic participation from the citizens. As part of this special cleanliness initiative, plastic weighing 60 kilograms was confiscated, and penalties were imposed on establishments spreading uncleanliness. A sum of INR 1,68,000 was collected in fines.

The special cleanliness drive is scheduled to continue until October 27, 2023, with the aim of covering the entire city. The authorities have called upon citizens to actively participate and contribute to the city’s cleanliness. Mr. Sanjay Shripatrarav Katkar, Commissioner and Administrator, urged residents to join hands and make Mira Bhayandar cleaner and more beautiful.

This initiative is aligned with the Swachh Bharat Mission 2023, focusing on creating a cleaner and more hygienic environment for all residents of Mira Bhayandar.
