Mira Bhayandar :- Under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2023, Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation carried out a special cleanliness drive on October 27, 2023. The event witnessed the presence of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator, Sanjay Shripatrav Katkar (IAS). This initiative covered various areas, including Delta Garden, Pandurang Wadi, Penkar Pada, Dahisar Checknaka, Jaltaran Talav, Kashmirira, Mandvi Pada, Neelkamal Naka, and Mahajanwadi.
In this special cleanliness campaign, officials, department heads, and around 350 to 400 additional employees from different departments, including Public Health, Garden, Fire Department, Civil Construction, and more, actively participated. To ensure efficient execution, the Municipal Corporation divided its workforce into ten teams, each responsible for different sections within Ward 06.
The campaign encompassed various tasks, such as direct cleaning by department heads, removing stickers, taking action against littering, maintaining public toilet cleanliness, cleaning statues and idols, inspecting and repairing damaged drains, and clearing open plots. These efforts were aimed at beautifying the area.
From 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the teams worked diligently to complete these tasks. Municipal Commissioner, Additional Municipal Commissioner, Administrator, and employees also inspected the market area, parks, and public gardens, providing necessary directions.
As a result of the campaign, 78 kilograms of confiscated plastics and punitive actions on littering led to a fine collection of INR 1,18,250. Since the commencement of the initiative, a total of 432 kilograms of confiscated plastics and fines of INR 9,62,950 have been collected.
This Special Cleanliness Drive took place from October 16 to October 27, 2023. The entire municipal corporation, local representatives, and citizens actively participated in this initiative, and the Municipal Commissioner and Administrator, Mr. Sanjay Shripatrav Katkar (IAS), expressed gratitude for their efforts.
