Mira-Bhayandar :- The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation, in alignment with the Swachh Bharat Mission 2023, observed its seventh day of the Special Cleanliness Drive on October 25, 2023. The event witnessed the active participation of Mr. Sanjay Shripatrao Katkar (IAS), Commissioner and Administrator, along with officials and employees from various departments.
In this initiative, the city was divided into two zones, each led by key officials. The first group, under the guidance of Mr. Aniket Manorkar, focused on cleaning areas spanning from Uttan Naka to Pali Road and Dharavi Fort to Velankanni Beach. The second team, under Mr. Sambhaji Panpatte, concentrated on Dongri, Bhut Bangla, and Uttan Naka.
The Special Cleanliness Drive saw the involvement of multiple high-ranking officials, including Ravi Pawar, Maruti Gayakwad, Sanjay Shinde, and Kalpita Pimpale, as well as various department employees. Over 350 to 400 additional workers from different departments and 10 teams from each department took part in this campaign.
Key activities during this drive included direct cleaning by department heads, removing stickers, enforcing strict penalties for littering, maintaining toilet cleanliness, cleaning memorials and statues, and repairing damaged fences. Additionally, open plots, water bodies, and garden areas were cleaned, enhancing the city’s aesthetics.
This drive, which started earlier, has already imposed fines totaling Rs. 6,34,450 by seizing 304 kilograms of plastic. It aims to continue until October 27, 2023, covering the entire city. The citizens are encouraged to actively participate in this campaign, offering their contributions to the city’s cleanliness.
Mr. Sanjay Shripatrao Katkar (IAS), Commissioner and Administrator, urged citizens to join hands in making Mira Bhayandar a cleaner and more beautiful place to live.
