Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Announces Diwali Grants for Employees

Navi Mumbai :- As the Diwali festival is set to begin from November 10, 2023, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has decided to spread the festive cheer among its employees. The NMMC Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, has announced generous Diwali grants for its officials, employees, and various workers for the year 2022-23.

In a significant move, the NMMC will be disbursing Rs. 30,000 to its officers and employees, along with a separate allocation of Rs. 24,000 for contractual employees and Rs. 14,000 for Asha workers. This benevolent gesture aims to celebrate the spirit of Diwali and provide financial assistance to NMMC’s dedicated workforce.

Among the beneficiaries are primary and secondary school teachers employed by the state government, who will receive a Diwali grant of Rs. 30,000, irrespective of their appointment type. Furthermore, those serving in positions under the Mahapalika will also receive a grant of Rs. 30,000.

In addition to the above, the NMMC will extend a grant of Rs. 24,000 to workers employed in various categories, including those working on a contractual basis, regular healthcare workers, nursery school teachers, and help desk personnel. The Asha workers under the Health Department will receive a Diwali grant of Rs. 14,000.

This benevolent initiative will benefit a total of 4,559 officials and employees within the NMMC, as per the approval granted by Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, the Municipal Commissioner. To facilitate the distribution of these grants, the NMMC has issued instructions to all departments for crediting the respective amounts to the bank accounts of the employees. This gesture is expected to bring joy and financial relief to NMMC employees as they celebrate Diwali.

In a bid to surpass the previous year’s generosity, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, the Municipal Commissioner, has taken this decision for the welfare of the employees. The NMMC officials and employees have warmly welcomed this decision, as it reflects the organization’s commitment to their well-being and happiness during the festive season.
