Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Promotes School-Level Kabaddi Competition Participation

Navi Mumbai :- In an effort to encourage sports at the school level, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has taken significant steps to promote district-level school Kabaddi competitions. With the aim of providing students in Navi Mumbai with the opportunity to participate in competitions at both the departmental and state levels, an enthusiastic environment has been created.

This year, the “Navi Mumbai District-Level School Sports Competition” was a resounding success, with over 35,000 student-athletes from Navi Mumbai participating in various sports categories, showcasing exceptional enthusiasm.

The district-level school Kabaddi competition took place at Dr. C. V. Samant Vidyalaya and D. R. Patil Primary School in Turbhe, and saw active participation from 134 boys and 88 girls in the age groups of 14, 17, and 19. The competition commenced with an auspicious gesture by Mr. Kamalakar Patil, Secretary of the Educational Institution.

Mr. Patil extended his best wishes to the participating teams and highlighted the consistent efforts of the organization in preparing students for showcasing their sporting talents on a grand stage. He emphasized the availability of excellent facilities to nurture the skills of the athletes, indicating the commitment of everyone involved.

The competition also provided a platform for students to demonstrate their sporting prowess and featured ample talent from Navi Mumbai. This initiative has led to a significant increase in student participation, fostering a love for sports within the municipal area.

The event was organized with the support of experienced organizers from the Thane District Kabaddi Association, ensuring that it ran smoothly and efficiently. The competition witnessed exceptional performances, with the final Kabaddi matches seeing Dr. Samant Vidyalaya and R. F. Naik Vidyalaya emerging victorious in the 14-year-old boys’ and girls’ categories, respectively. In the 17-year-old category, R. F. Naik Vidyalaya secured the top position, and in the 19-year-old category, Dr. C. V. Samant Vidyalaya claimed victory.

The winning teams have earned the opportunity to participate in the Mumbai Divisional Kabaddi competition. The Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, congratulated the victorious teams and wished them success in their future endeavors, motivating them to perform exceptionally well in the upcoming competitions. This initiative not only promotes sports at the grassroots level but also offers students the opportunity to showcase their talent on a larger stage.
