Successful Workshop on Capacity Building for Municipal Officials in Mira Bhayandar

Mira-Bhayander :- Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation recently organized a successful one-day workshop aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of its officers and employees working in various departments. The workshop, held on October 2, 2023, at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavan (Nagarbhavan), was initiated under the guidance and vision of Mr. Sanjay Shripatrav Katkar (IAS), the Municipal Commissioner and Administrator.

The primary objective of this workshop was to empower officers and employees to effectively address issues related to encroachments, unauthorized construction, and unauthorized street vendors in the city. The training emphasized the importance of dealing with these issues within the framework of the law. It also focused on equipping the municipal officials with the necessary skills to take action against encroachments, unauthorized construction, and street vendors effectively.

The training was conducted in three phases. In the second phase, Ms. Kalpita Pimpale, Deputy Commissioner of the Garden and Forest Department, imparted knowledge to officials and employees of the Garden and Forest Department, highlighting the significance and seriousness of their work.

In the third phase, a joint training session was conducted for the Health Department and Solid Waste Management Department. The training aimed to educate Multipurpose Workers (MPWs) about the importance of their work, including eliminating single-use plastics and creating awareness about waste management practices. Mr. Sambhaji Panpatte, the Municipal Commissioner, delivered this training session.

Each phase of the workshop concluded with discussions and interactions with the officials and employees to address their concerns and provide them with relevant information. It was emphasized that being well-informed about relevant laws and regulations is crucial for municipal officers and employees working in the field.

The Commissioner and Administrator, Mr. Sanjay Shripatrav Katkar, underscored that the knowledge gained from this workshop would enable municipal officials and employees to contribute effectively to the development of the city. He expressed confidence that their increased awareness and expertise would play a vital role in achieving the city’s developmental goals. This initiative demonstrates the municipality’s commitment to creating a cleaner and more organized urban environment.
