Palghar Zilla Parishad Initiates One-Hour Cleanliness Campaign on October 1st
Palghar :- Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), a cleanliness drive spanning from September 15th to October 2nd, 2023, is set to take place in Pandharpur, Palghar District. On October 1st, 2023, at 10:00 AM, all gram panchayats in the district will unite for a one-hour voluntary cleanliness campaign.
The call for active participation comes from Mr. Bhanudas Palve, the Chief Executive Officer of Palghar Zilla Parishad. The primary objective of this initiative, known as “Swachhata Hi Seva 2023,” is to transform a portion of Palghar into a garbage-free zone.
During the event, citizens are encouraged to actively engage in various cleanliness activities, particularly focusing on Single-Use Plastics (SUP) and Zero Waste practices. These efforts will include cleaning public spaces, clearing roadways of accumulated trash, preventing littering in public water sources, maintaining cleanliness around rivers and lakes, and ensuring government and non-government offices are clean.
This cleanliness drive will encompass tourist destinations, bus stations, coastal areas, residential areas, health centers, schools, and government offices. Atul Paraskar, the project director of the Palghar Water and Sanitation Department, emphasized the importance of this initiative.
The success of this cleanliness campaign hinges on the active participation of various stakeholders, including self-help groups, community representatives, schools, college students, National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers, women’s savings groups, cleanliness workers, government employees, and all sections of society.
Mr. Bhanudas Palve, the CEO of Palghar Zilla Parishad, extended a warm invitation to the entire community to make this Swachhata Hi Seva 2023 initiative on October 1st a resounding success.
This comprehensive effort underscores the commitment of Palghar District to cleanliness and is a step towards a cleaner, healthier environment for all its residents.
