The case revolves around a young woman, Pooja Sanjay Koli (27), who had applied for a ‘Non-Criminal’ certificate through the Setu Suvidha Kendra for a specific purpose. Between November 19, 2021, and November 30, 2021, documents were submitted to the Maha e-Seva Kendra to complete the paperwork. On November 30, 2021, Ingle issued the ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ certificate to Pooja Koli. Later, the Mumbai Police selected Koli as a candidate, leading to a thorough verification of her Non-Creamy Layer certificate by the Tehsildar of Bhusawal.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that a 21-digit number, along with a barcode, had been generated for Koli’s ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ certificate. Ingle, the accused, allegedly prepared the certificate and provided it to Koli. In an attempt to secure her ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ certificate, Koli failed to give her consent or provide any information, and the document’s authenticity was questioned.

To unravel this case, an identical ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ certificate was created under the name of Sanjay Pundlik Koli, Pooja Koli’s father, who resides in Velhal, Jalgaon, and is a Talathi. Deputy Tehsildar Preeti Lute lodged a complaint with the local police regarding the certificate.

The Bhusawal Tahsildar’s office is now conducting an extensive examination of all Setu Suvidha Kendras in the Bhusawal region to determine the extent of document forgery that may have occurred. If found guilty, the Setu Suvidha Kendra associated with the forgeries will be closed, and criminal charges will be filed against the operators.

The scandal has raised concerns over the security and authenticity of documents issued by such centers, prompting authorities to take immediate action against any potential malpractice. Jitendra Patil, a local administrative official, stated, “A thorough investigation will be conducted into all Setu Suvidha Kendras in Bhusawal, and if document forgery is confirmed, the concerned centers will be shut down and legal action will be taken against the operators.”

This incident highlights the importance of maintaining the integrity of government-issued documents and ensuring that the certification process remains free from fraudulent activities. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will emerge as the case unfolds.
