Navi Mumbai :- In the spirit of celebrating India’s Amrit Mahotsav, the nationwide festival marking the essence of Indian independence, the central government’s ‘My Land, My Nation’ initiative has brought forth a remarkable event called the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra.’ Under this program, various divisions of Navi Mumbai have collected soil from every household, which has been combined into departmental ‘Amrit Kalash’ (Vessels of Nectar). This initiative, known as the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra,’ is set to embark on a unique journey, symbolizing the unity and love of every citizen for their motherland.
The ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ involves eight departments, each taking a journey carrying these ‘Amrit Kalash’ from door to door in their respective regions. It has been a participatory effort with local representatives, students, and citizens playing an active role. The yatra is also accompanied by a band playing traditional tunes and visiting various locations to celebrate this initiative.
These ‘Amrit Kalash’ collected at the departmental level are being brought to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters, where a special event was organized to celebrate the coming together of these vessels. Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, Municipal Commissioner, Navi Mumbai, hoisted the flag and led the ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra.’ He was joined by other senior officials from various departments.
This event is a prelude to the state-level celebration in Mumbai, and the ‘Amrit Kalash’ from Navi Mumbai will eventually be presented in the national capital, New Delhi. The soil collected from different parts of Navi Mumbai will be used to create an ‘Amrit Vatika’ and a memorial in Delhi. The enthusiasm and dedication of the citizens of Navi Mumbai have been pivotal in this initiative, showcasing their love for the nation.
Additionally, two young representatives from Navi Mumbai will carry the ‘Amrit Kalash’ to New Delhi, symbolizing the city’s contribution to the national initiative. This ‘My Land, My Nation’ program has indeed brought Navi Mumbai residents together to demonstrate their unity and patriotism.
The Municipal Commissioner, Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, expressed his gratitude to the citizens of Navi Mumbai for their unwavering support in making this event a success. The ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ is a testament to the spirit of the people of Navi Mumbai and their devotion to their motherland. This initiative not only strengthens the bond among citizens but also showcases their collective contribution to the nation’s capital.
