Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Honors Exceptional Young Sailor, Dhruv Mohite

Navi Mumbai :- The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) celebrated the remarkable achievements of a young sportsman, Dhruv Mohite, in a special ceremony held at the NMMC headquarters. This event aimed to recognize Dhruv’s outstanding contributions to water sports and his accomplishments in the field of open water swimming.

Dhruv Mohite, a 20-year-old water sports enthusiast, has made a name for himself through his exceptional feats in open water swimming. He has conquered the Arabian Sea, crossing it five times, earning him a place in the Asia Book of Records. Moreover, Dhruv’s name appears four times in the India Book of Records and twice in the Best of India Records.

Mr. Rajesh Narvekar, the Municipal Commissioner, along with other senior officials including Ms. Sujata Dhole, Mr. Vijaykumar Mhasal, Mr. Sharad Pawar, Mr. Sanjay Desai, Ms. Lalita Babar, Mr. Dattratray Ghanvat, Mr. Somanath Kekane, Ms. Chitra Baviskar, Mr. Manoj Patil, Mr. Shirish Aradwad, and Ms. Abhilasha Mhatre, were present at the event to honor Dhruv Mohite.

Dhruv’s extraordinary achievements include swimming across the Arabian Sea from Elephanta Island to the Gateway of India, a distance of 12 kilometers in just 3 hours and 7 minutes. He also swam from Dharamtar Port to Rewas Jetty, covering 18 kilometers in 3 hours and 56 minutes. In addition, he successfully completed a 14.14-kilometer swim from Mora Port to Kasakadak in 4 hours and 40 minutes and a 20-kilometer swim from Mora Port to Karanja Jetty in 5 hours and 20 seconds.

The NMMC, recognizing these remarkable feats, has felicitated Dhruv Mohite with a certificate, a bouquet, and a memento at the NMMC headquarters, acknowledging his contributions to water sports and culture.

Dhruv Mohite’s achievements serve as an inspiration for the youth in Navi Mumbai, and the NMMC has pledged to support and encourage such talented individuals to excel in their respective fields.
